Deborah Bier, PhD, is a health care practitioner, teacher, journalist, and artist in Concord, Massachusetts. She is the director of the metro Boston office of Caring Companion Connections, an agency providing para-professional home care for elders and the disabled.

For 20 years, her private health care practice focused on working with multi-generation families where one or more member was chronically or seriously ill, helping them to find complementary methods to improve their health, and to increase their wellness despite their health challenges.

Deborah is the publisher, co-editor of and frequent contributor to Vibration Magazine, an 11-year-old free online quarterly journal about vibrational and flower essences. She is the author of four books and countless articles on health, healing, food, and issues local to her historic town.

As a volunteer, she has contributed countless hours to her community. This includes seven years on her local Historical Commission, and 10 years organizing neighborhoods for social closeness and emergency preparedness. She currently serves as her town's CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Coordinator. An early adapter of the Web, she is the founder of Concord's 14-year-old community website, and of the Concord Magazine (now a blog), an online publication about "all things Concord."

In her copious spare time, she is the jewelry designer and maker for Spiral Beading. She is an avid backyard farmer of both decorative and functional plants for food, medicine and beauty. She is a former whole foods chef and food writer, and depends upon this experience in both her healthcare and backyard farming endeavors.

It's been theorized that Deborah Bier is actually a group of individuals working under one name, rather than just a single person. "How do you manage to do what you do?!" "No one person can do as much as you do in any given day!" "Don't you ever sleep?!" are comments frequently uttered in her vicinity.

Be assured that Deborah Bier IS just ONE person, without a staff of elves working day and night under her moniker. And no, she's not going to explain to anyone just how she does it all because she doesn't know either.
